AlexaRae’s Pitch

After seeing our Ice Bucket Challenge video on Facebook last week, AlexaRae Antekeier, a friend of Corey’s from high school who now works for a PR firm in Chicago, sent him a message asking if we would mind if she pitched my ALS story to a couple of news outlets. Corey said it would be fine and less than two hours later a senior editor from, The Today Show’s website, emailed him to set up an interview.

Throughout that day Corey kept sending Mark and I questions about our thoughts on the Ice Bucket Challenge. We were excited but never thought it would be published and then on Sunday morning while we were having brunch at the Lake House in Muskegon with family and friends Mark received an email from Corey saying that our article was up on As we started to read the article and saw our family’s pictures I started to cry because this ALS journey we are on has brought so many emotional moments that sometimes it seems like I’m watching a movie. My biggest hope is that they continue to find helpful medicines and hopefully someday a cure for ALS and other awful diseases.

Thank you so much for using your talents to help raise awareness for ALS.

We love you!

  1. You don’t know me but I hope you don’t mind my mentioning your blog on my latest post. Your blog is one of my favorites because of the love and courage you show in every entry. Peace to you and your family.

  2. A true highlight of my PR career, Rosemary. No person is more deserving of a national story, nor do I think I’ve ever been as honored to place one. Thank you for allowing me to share your bravery and positive “Live Simple, Love Like Crazy” outlook on life with millions across the country. I hope you find some solace in knowing that you and your family have positively impacted more people’s lives in just two short years than what most can hope to do in a lifetime. Love and prayers with you always. xo

  3. Ms. Lambert,
You don’t know me, but I know Annette Bernardini Grimm from high school. I saw her link to your blog several months ago and now I am following you. No matter how challenging my days are, I look forward to reading what you have to say. It reminds me each day how precious life really is. Thank you for sharing your journey.
